Before there were pharmacies and grocery stores conveniently located in communities, people had to find natural remedies for common ailments and sources of food by using the plants found in nature. Late summer is a great time of year to harvest some of the most useful and delicious plants, including elderberries and pawpaws. Join Ranger Clare on a 2.5 mile hike to look for these and other edible and medicinal plants. She will share some of her favorite stories, tips, and recipes for collecting and using these plants. Bring water, sunscreen and bug spray. Cost $8. Register online.
Program limited to 10 people and we’ll be practicing social distancing. Bring a mask for times when we are unable to social distance.
